The Plaza Hotel & Casino continues to upgrade its guest experience with a $15 million renovation. The upgrades are transforming more than 100 hotel rooms and suites on the top floors of the North Tower. The new Luxe Rooms offer enhanced guest accommodations with a variety of new technology, energy efficiency, and décor upgrades.
A Look At The Luxe Rooms
The renovations of the rooms at the Plaza are more than a new coat of paint and some new pieces of furniture. Significant infrastructure changes have been made to create the new Luxe Rooms that average 325 square feet.
The Luxe rooms might be familiar to some guests that have stayed at the Plaza recently. These rooms incorporate similar design details that debuted when the Plaza renovated its pool suites (highly recommended if you love hanging out at the pool. The Linq also offers poolside hotel rooms).
The new rooms at the Plaza include warm wood tones and mixed metals with bold colors and graphics. They also feature laminate flooring with area rugs and a barn door entry into the bathroom. The new and upgraded bathrooms have custom vanities, oversized walk-in showers, quartz counters and a blend of dimensional tiles.
In addition to the contemporary décor, the Luxe rooms offer modernized entertainment and climate control systems. Every Luxe room has an Amazon Echo Dot within the alarm clock. This allows guests to easily use general Alexa commands to check the weather, play music and contact hotel staff for assistance. The staff can help sort housekeeping, reserving a pool cabana, and make dinner reservations at the Plaza. If you’re concerned about privacy, just unplug the device.
Each room also features energy efficient LED lighting and an upgraded climate control system from Verdant. The new climate control system senses when the room is unoccupied to manage settings that save energy. While this will save energy, it might not be the best thing for a Las Vegas hotel room in the summer. Hotel rooms can get extremely hot during the summer. Depending on how the system works the room might not be totally refreshing after sweating all afternoon outside in 115-degree temperatures. This is just something to consider.
Every room offers various guest conveniences and amenities you’d expect. The Luxe rooms have a multitude of built-in USB charging ports which all hotel rooms should offer. There’s a 49-inch flat-screen television with premium cable and most importantly – a coffee maker and refrigerator.
The Luxe rooms also have state-of-the-art RFID card entry. This is a safety feature that has recently been installed in all 1,000 guest rooms at the Plaza.
A Few Words From The Boss
Jonathan Jossel, CEO of the Plaza has been upgrading the experience at the Plaza hotel and casino over the past few years. The property has come a long way in a short time. Actually, the same can be said for downtown Las Vegas overall.
Jossel says “Just as downtown Las Vegas continues to evolve, the Plaza’s new Luxe Rooms are raising the standard for accommodations in the heart of downtown. We are proud to debut the Luxe Rooms, offering our guests beautiful new hotel rooms and suites with numerous modern conveniences and sought-after amenities.”
But Wait…There’s More
The Plaza recently added shuttle service to and from McCarron Airport for hotel guests.
Interested guests can make reservations today for the new rooms that be available to the public beginning September 1. Visit the Plaza website for more information and pictures of the new Luxe rooms
