How do we know Las Vegas is back to business as usual? Parking fees are back at casinos up and down the Vegas Strip. Caesars, MGM Resorts, and Cosmopolitan have all reinstated paid parking. You can read about the self-parking fees here. The fees change periodically and you can find current information for the three casino operators here:

The fees listed are for normal days and nights. Prices could change if there’s a major event taking place at or near any of the properties. Check the corresponding websites if you plan on visiting while there’s a big concert or sporting event in the area.
Instead of talking about why Las Vegas parking fees are back again, I want to look at ways to avoid paying to park at these Las Vegas properties. I very very rarely pay Las Vegas parking fees since I fall into at least one of the four categories below.
The process to get free parking in Las Vegas casinos ranges from simple to not difficult. That said, getting free parking could take time and money.

Casino Rewards Programs

Las Vegas parking fees can be avoided by reaching a certain tier level at the various casino loyalty programs. Jumping tiers with these casino rewards programs is easier than ever. Caesars, Cosmopolitan, and MGM Resorts reward guests for spending on everything – not just gambling. One big weekend of fancy dinners, drinks, and hotel rooms could help a player jump tiers.

  • Caesars Rewards (Caesars): Self-parking for Platinum, Diamond, and Seven Stars levels of the Caesars Rewards program. Valet is complimentary for Diamond and Seven Stars levels.
  • Identity Rewards (Cosmopolitan): Self-parking is complimentary for Sterling status or higher, subject to availability. Valet parking is complimentary for Gold status or higher.
  • M Life Rewards (MGM Resorts): Self-parking is complimentary for Pearl, Gold, Platinum, and Noir members of MGM Resorts‘ M life Rewards. Valet is complimentary for Gold, Platinum, and Noir M life Rewards Members.

Just present the appropriate casino loyalty rewards card for free valet or self-parking. The kiosk card readers or an attendant will scan the card and there won’t be a charge.
Note, the computers have your current tier level. If you’ve fallen short of a higher tier there will be a charge. I realized I was playing on a three-year-old card one day during my last visit to a casino. I haven’t seen a high tier at that property in years.

Credit Card Upgrades

Caesars and MGM Resorts offer credit cards with immediate loyalty club tier upgrades. This is an easy way to get free self-parking for these companies.
I signed up for the MGM Resorts credit card and was immediately upgraded to Pearl and haven’t paid for parking since. I did not sign up for a Caesars’ credit card because their self-parking garages can be a bit tight for my poor driving skills.
You can find more information on the Caesars Rewards Visa Card here and the MGM Resorts M Life Rewards credit card here. Cosmopolitan doesn’t offer this kind of rewards program upgrade at this time.

Hotel guests

Self-parking and valet are complimentary for hotel guests at the Cosmopolitan and all MGM Resorts properties.
Caesars offers hotel guests complimentary self-parking only. Caesars hotel guests must pay for valet unless they’re a higher tier as detailed above.
