Earlier this year we gave you a heads up that construction for Circa Resort & Casino was about to begin in downtown Las Vegas. Building the casino has a short timeline as it’s scheduled to open in December 2020. The property recently reached the mid-point of its 22-month construction process.

Circa Construction Update

Unlike some other casinos in Las Vegas, Circa is on track to finish in time to open in December 2020 (note: The opening of Resorts World Las Vegas – across from Wynn – has been pushed back to 2021).
Circa will be the first ground-up gaming resort in downtown Las Vegas since 1980. The 22-month construction schedule is as lofty as the plans for the new downtown Las Vegas casino. Circa will be a 1.25 million-square-foot, 777-room casino-resort that will stand as the tallest structure north of the Las Vegas Strip.
“Reaching this milestone for Circa would not be possible without our incredible partners and construction team,” said Owner, Derek Stevens. “Today we not only celebrate this exciting moment in Circa’s journey but those who have helped us bring the project to life. I’m proud to deliver something completely new to the Las Vegas experience and can’t wait to open our doors a year from now for everyone to enjoy it.”
Stevens also owns The D Las Vegas and Golden Gate casinos. The latter is across the Fremont Street Experience from Circa. Much like his other properties, Stevens will bring old-school Las Vegas hospitality to Circa. The new casino will be different from the others in that it will offer cutting-edge design and technology. Circa will feature first-class amenities, nonstop entertainment, advanced hotel technology, and the attentive customer service guests at Stevens’ casinos have come to expect.

Circa Casino Highlights

Construction is on time and the plans for Circa remain the same. Here are some things to look forward to at Circa Resort & Casino:
World’s Largest Sportsbook – The resort’s centerpiece will deliver the best sports-watching experience in Las Vegas and beyond. The sportsbook will occupy space on three levels of Circa. Guests can watch all of the action on a 78-million-pixel high-definition screen. This will be the largest sportsbook screen in history. The Vegas Stats and Information Network (VSiN) will have its own on-site studio offering bettors in-depth analysis from a roster of experts including broadcasters, industry professionals and athletes.
Casino & Lobby – Bringing the party to the floor, Circa’s two-story casino will house 1,350 slot machines and 49 table games. A lobby highlight will be a statement piece unlike any other. Las Vegas’ beloved neon kicking cowgirl, Vegas Vickie, will be a signature feature in Circa’s lobby.

Circa Resort Highlights

Rooftop Pool Amphitheater – One of Circa’s key features will be an outdoor pool amphitheater. Its six rooftop pools will be open 365 days a year. One major highlight of the pool deck will be a massive, nearly 14-million-pixel screen, playing the day’s most exciting games for those who want to float while watching the games. Larger groups can partake in one of the pool’s Super Cabanas, which can host up to 50 guests. The pool also will include a small gaming area and its own food & beverage venue and music from DJs and special guests.
Parking Garage – Playfully dubbed “Garage Mahal,” Stevens is constructing one of the most high-tech transportation hubs in the city with a focus on customer experience. Designed to deliver the easiest and most convenient experience for ride-sharing services such as Uber and Lyft, Garage Mahal also will offer valet and self-parking, in addition to long-term parking for loyal Circa customers.
Stevens will announce the restaurant and bar lineup in early 2020. While the exact opening date is still TBA, Circa should begin taking reservations for 2021 in April. Visit circalasvegas.com to keep up on the progress of the new casino in downtown Las Vegas.
