MGM Resorts recently introduced a Work-From-Vegas package. The “Viva Las Office” deal features luxury accommodations at Aria or Bellagio, comfortable workspace, resort perks, and air travel partnership with JSX. This package comes on the heels of Wynn and JSX announcing a similar deal that’s geared towards regional leisure travelers looking for an escape.

During second quarter earnings calls just about every casino operator discussed how regional casinos are doing better business since reopening than destination casinos. This makes sense as people aren’t flying en masse to tourist destinations. They’re finding the local casinos offer enough for the time being. Taking a flight to Las Vegas might not be an issue in normal times but it is right now for many.

Occupancy at Las Vegas hotels is pretty low between the lack of international and east coast visitors. Depending on the property in Las Vegas, occupancy is somewhere around 30% during weekdays and 50% on weekends.

MGM Resorts’ Work-From-Vegas package is geared towards filling hotel rooms on weeknights. Wynn’s Escape Travel deal is focused on bringing their biggest spenders to Las Vegas from Arizona and California. Either way, regional travelers have an excuse to try out the amazing JSX experience. I wrote about my JSX flights to and from Las Vegas earlier this year.

MGM Resorts “Viva Las Office”

MGM Resorts “Viva Las Office” will be a much-needed change of scenery for those who have been working from home for the past five months. There are three different tiers for the packages. Each offers amenities and benefits to fit every working traveler’s needs.

To start, there are three-, four- or five-night packages available. One useful perk here is that guests can maximize workdays with flexible check-in and check-out times. Instead of planning everything yourself, there is a dedicated Executive Assistant who will handle all reservations and experiences throughout your stay. Consider this sort of a personal concierge.

“We understand that working from home every day can become taxing and monotonous, and we are excited to offer a safe and curated experience here at Bellagio and Aria that combines work and play,” said Atif Rafiq, President of Commercial and Growth for MGM Resorts. “These packages are designed to offer the best of both worlds. A safe, spacious work setting while still allowing guests to enjoy the amenities and experiences Las Vegas is known for through a single offering.”

For those guests who want to travel with their four-legged coworkers, JSX, Bellagio, and Aria are all dog-friendly with a variety of add-on amenities. You’ll have to pay a little more to bring your pup to Sin City with this deal.

The packages pack quite a punch for a working vacation. They might offer a good deal for those who aren’t M Life Rewards members. Those already part of the loyalty program might find better prices by booking everything individually. Not everyone will need everything available in the packages. Maybe creating a trip inspired by this is more financially prudent. TravelVegas always has deals if you’d rather DIY.

Ultimately the background of a work zoom call would be better looking with the Bellagio fountains or Vegas Strip than a bare wall or bookshelf.
