After the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) I tipped you off on what the casino of the future could look like. Recent announcements of new esports gambling and new skill based games at multiple casinos show that the operators are looking to the future. Unfortunately, they’ll be in separate casinos for the time being. That’s okay, we’re on the way to the future and we can catch a preview right now.
eSports Betting and Competitions at Downtown Grand
Downtown Grand is for helping bring esports and esports betting to Las Vegas. The casino announced that they are hosting a one-of-a-kind Viewing Party for the League of Legends World Championships Final Match on Saturday, November 4 inside The Commissary.
Downtown Grand is the only location in the United States to offer the opportunity to wager on the League of Legends World Finals. If you want to place a wager on the eventyou must do so at the Downtown Grand by midnight on November 3. There won’t be any wagering on the event on game day.
The Commissary opened as a food court but is now the dedicated home for esports at Downtown Grand. The venue provides the latest gaming rigs, high speed and secure network, and state of the art streaming equipment. There are also regular tournaments to participate in and even an esports boot camp. You can find more information here.

“We are incredibly excited to launch our second line of hardware and six new games onto casino floors,” said Eric Meyerhofer, Founder and CEO, Gamblit Gaming. “Caesars has been a fantastic partner who understands the need for innovation and reaching new consumers already on the floor. With our great range of games at launch, we think the TriStation™ hardware truly offers something for everyone.”
Casinos Of The Future Taking Shape
There won’t be just one casino of the future. Casinos come in all shapes and sizes. Operators have different customers and different goals for their property. In addition to the games above we also see the social Fortune Cup horse racing game at The Venetian and MGM Grand. It’s fun to see how casinos are changing up the gaming floor to see what appeals to their customer.
The newer gambling video games are more up my alley than esports. I’m looking forward to trying out some of the TriStation games on my next visit to one of the Caesars Entertainment properties. A cup of coffee and “Slice of Cake” sounds like a fun way to start the day
