The story of Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino is a tale that engenders more than one feeling. The property seems like it might be older than 10. At the same time, it also seems as though it was renovated just a few years ago. Planet Hollywood casino has indeed been around for ten years.
Planet Hollywood used to be called Aladdin before a major renovation that was completed in 2007. The renovations essentially modernized the casino from Arabian desert theme to a more generic but modern theme. The new casino-resort was topped off with entertainment paraphernalia that includes movies, musicians, and TV shows. From chips in the casino to outfits and memorabilia in the room there has always been hints of entertainment at Planet Hollywood.
Hotel Room & Suite Renovations
Caesars Entertainment took over operation of Planet Hollywood in late 2009. The company operates the property to this day. Caesars Entertainment just completed a $100 million renovation. The update features almost 2,500 renovated hotel rooms and suites with clean, sleek, contemporary design elements. Think muted tones like white and gray with pops of color throughout.
Planet Hollywood is the first resort in Caesars Entertainment’s Las Vegas portfolio to have all guest rooms completely renovated. The company-wide project has a total of 23,000 Las Vegas hotel room renovations in the works. This program will be more than 50% complete by the end of 2017.

“Caesars Entertainment is committed to offering the best experience to our guests and this includes stylish new rooms,” says Bob Morse, president of hospitality for Caesars Entertainment. “The Planet Hollywood renovation is a significant milestone as it is the first complete hotel renovation in Caesars Entertainment Las Vegas Resorts’ larger room renovation initiative.”
“For ten years, Planet Hollywood has offered guests the ultimate VIP experience, offering accommodations and amenities that encapsulate the celebrity lifestyle,” says David Hoenemeyer, regional president of Bally’s, Paris and Planet Hollywood. “The fresh, newly renovated room product further elevates the overall guest experience.”
In addition to renovated hotel rooms, there’s a renovated and upgraded restaurant on the casino floor. Planet Dailies, home of the fantastic bacon and cheese omelet, has closed. Café Hollywood now occupies the redesigned space. The modernized cafe is open 24 hours a day like its predecessor.
