We’re not seeing a lot of new casinos popping up around Las Vegas. What we are seeing are casino operators keeping the bones of existing casinos and remodeling and upgrading the entire property. Palace Station, just west of the Vegas Strip, is one such casino being reinvented without closing.

The Palace Station upgrades and renovations shouldn’t be news if you frequently read this blog. We confirmed these renovations in 2016 and reported them here in early 2017. Well, it’s time to enjoy the fruits of Station Casinos efforts to update their oldest casino.

The upgrades to Palace Station have cost nearly $200 million and the work isn’t entirely complete. However, there are enough new amenities to enjoy that you might want to make a visit to Palace Station.

New Casino Floor

The casino floor at Palace Station is much larger and comfortable. The new 220,000-square-foot expansion makes the casino floor 44 times (!) larger than the original casino. In addition to a fresh new look, there are 500 more slot machines at Palace Station. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the casino floor now has 1,800 slot and video poker machines and 43 table games.

Station Casinos is still upgrading the sportsbook. That should be complete in time for football season. You may remember that the bingo room was completed last year with the first phase of renovations. This expansion makes the casino floor at Palace Station one of the largest off the Vegas Strip.

New Restaurants

In addition to the casino floor upgrades, Palace Station has a slew of new restaurant concepts along with a major upgrade to their award-winning Feast Buffet. Along with the new buffet, Palace Station welcomes the following new restaurants: bBD’s (Beers Burgers Desserts), Boathouse Asian Eatery, and Mumfresh Asian Eats.

Here are quick overviews of the each new restaurant at Palace Station:

Feast Buffet
The new buffet at Palace Station is 14,000 square feet. While most Station Casinos buffets have similar offerings, this Feast Buffet has a different counterpart. The new buffet has been upgraded and inspired by Station Casino’s newest buffet concept – A.Y.C.E Buffet at Palms. Sections at the new buffet include The Hearth, Wok This Way, Blazing Grill, Health Favorite, The Carvery and Just Desserts.
