Many visitors in Las Vegas enjoy gambling at a casino bar. One of the many reasons to gamble at a bar is that drink service is usually quicker than on the casino floor. Even with new(ish) added drink monitoring systems the complimentary drinks can still flow quickly as long as you’re playing video poker, keno, and on the rare occasion slot machines.
It’s rare to walk up to a bar inside or outside of a casino in Las Vegas and see someone playing slot games. The titles just aren’t up to par with the games customers want to play. That could be changing in the next few years. Many gaming manufacturers are creating new bartop games.
The Linq currently has new Interblock StarBar machines at some of its bars. Even though there are different gaming options like roulette and craps, most people seem to stick with video poker. Gameplay at bartop machines could change when casinos install the new Aristocrat Winner’s World machines.
Winner’s World Multi-Game
Aristocrat recently unveiled a new bartop machine with its revolutionary Winner’s World Multi-Game bar top cabinet. Las Vegas and other casino markets around the country should already start seeing these new games. More on that below.
This innovative new bartop gaming system offers a completely different experience. The Winner’s World games offer a variety of entertainment-style and Buffalo keno games, poker games and player-favorite slot games including Buffalo, Buffalo Gold, and Wild Lepre’coins.
The Winner’s World cabinet features the industry’s largest floating 23.5″ LCD tilted monitor complete. Each game has an easy-access USB phone charger. Additionally, the monitor boasts a flip top for fast and easy service while simultaneously eliminating counter space intrusion and downtime.
Unfortunately, the cabinet is equipped with Aristocrat’s “smart-drink” tracking light. This drink monitoring system makes “it easier than ever to reward players.” I’m old enough to remember when bartenders “rewarded players” by seeing the drink was empty.
Winner’s World at Boyd Gaming Casinos
Boyd Gaming casinos are the first casino company that will install Winner’s World games. The units will be installed at all of their properties around the country. Boyd Gaming locations in Las Vegas are downtown and off the Vegas Strip:
- Eastside Cannery
- Gold Coast
- Main Street Station
- The Orleans
- Sam’s Town
“Winner’s World Multi-Game has been an instant fan favorite across Boyd Gaming destinations nationwide,” said Mike Laubach, vice president of slot operations. “We look forward to bringing this new and improved bar top play to our players throughout our portfolio.”
New Bartop Experience
“While innovation abounds in every area of the casino, bar top play has been largely stagnant,” said Hector Fernandez, president of Aristocrat Americas. “Winner’s World Multi-Game™ offers a fresh take for our customers, and we’re excited to bring player-favorite Aristocrat games to these venues for the first time.”
Penny slots usually make more money for casinos than video poker games. There’s an incentive for casinos and bar owners to add these games. While that’s a negative people LOVE the Buffalo brand slot machines. These should certainly appeal to those gamblers.
However, these games could have a negative impact on video poker players. For example, Boyd Gaming casino bars are especially busy with video poker players. Their bartop video poker games often have better returns than casinos on the Vegas Strip or at locals bars.
While the new games might be interesting the video poker paytables could be reduced. Innovation is great but at what cost?
