Las Vegas is a hot spot for New Year’s Eve. There are between 300,000 and 350,000 people expected in Las Vegas for the weekend. With all of the new entertainment venues in Las Vegas, there’s no competition for the best place to party as one year ends and another begins. You won’t find more consolidated entertainment anywhere in America. Casinos, shows, clubs, and restaurants will all be packed.

On New Year’s Eve, crowds will overtake the Vegas Strip. After the sun goes down there will be no vehicles on the Vegas Strip. This makes the streets relatively free for anyone to roam. As the night goes on there will be sectioned off areas in the street where visitors can watch a midnight fireworks show called “America’s Party.” New Year’s Eve is a unique way to enjoy the Vegas Strip.

Fireworks Above The Vegas Strip
Fireworks will be take off from the rooftop of seven different casinos on the Vegas Strip. From south to north, you’ll see fireworks in the sky above MGM Grand, Aria, Planet Hollywood, Caesars Palace, Treasure Island, the Venetian, and the Stratosphere. Once again the New Year’s Eve fireworks show will last just under 10 minutes.

According to the Las Vegas Sun, Grucci will have between 700 and 750 mortar tubes and will shoot more than 150 fireworks per second. The Grucci app will provide a soundtrack to the fireworks show. TV viewers and video streamers will be able to hear the music while watching live.

Extra Security In Las Vegas
There’s always more security on the Vegas Strip for New Year’s Eve. That will be amplified this in the wake of the shooting earlier this year. In addition to increased local police, the National Guard will keep an eye on safety. The FBI will be paying closer attention to Las Vegas than usual.

There are a few security measures that you’ll actually have to deal with once again. Visitors under 18 will not be allowed to stay outside on the Vegas Strip after 9 p.m. unless there’s a parent or legal guardian. Strollers, backpacks and glass bottles are banned from the Strip on New Year’s Eve. If you must have a bag for your things it has to be 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 inches or smaller. You might want to invest in a fanny pack for your personal items.
