Las Vegas is a great vacation destination to enjoy the holiday season. While the locals are bundled in their winter coats tourists from all over the country are enjoying the relatively warm temperatures. Even when the sun goes down in Las Vegas the temperatures can be considered chilly. Spending time outside during the holidays without freezing is great.
One of the newest popular activities to enjoy outside in Las Vegas is ice skating. The Cosmopolitan Ice Rink offers great views of the Vegas Strip but there are now two casinos offering a chance to skate around outside.
Last year Green Valley Ranch held its first Winter’s Village experience. This year Station Casinos is expanding the winter wonderland to a second property off the Vegas Strip. The Winter’s Village experience will open at Green Valley Ranch and Red Rock Casino on November 17. Guests will be able to create memories on the festive outdoor ice rink and at various holiday-inspired activities.
Green Valley Ranch and Red Rock Casino will transform each of its outdoor backyard pool areas into a holiday experience for the entire family. Upon entering each Winter’s Village venue, guests will be welcomed with beautifully decorated trees adorned with thousands of white lights and holiday music providing a magical backdrop.
The holiday experience at Green Valley Ranch Resort will feature an outdoor rink complete with real ice and views of the Las Vegas skyline. Meanwhile, the ice rink at Red Rock Casino has a beautiful view of Red Rock Canyon. You might actually see snow-capped mountains in the distance.
In celebration of the holiday season, guests will also be able to enjoy a variety of amenities at each Winter’s Village venue. Both casinos will offer holiday-inspired bites, custom-cocktail lounges complete with mocktails for the children to enjoy, fire pit stations allowing guests to roast handmade s’mores over the fire, and specialty programming throughout the season.
The major difference between the two Winter’s Village experiences is the size of the ice skating rink. Green Valley Ranch has an ice skating area of 6,400 square feet. That’s more than twice the size of the 2,500 square foot rink at Red Rock Casino.
