There are Las Vegas collectibles and there are Must Have Las Vegas Collectibles. The highly anticipated Las Vegas Architecture Lego set falls into the latter category. After almost a year of waiting for the set, it’s finally available for purchase.
The new Las Vegas Lego set allows you to capture the architectural beauty of Las Vegas. The 500 piece brick collectible features iconic attractions located on and around the Las Vegas Strip. Structures featured in the set include the Bellagio, Luxor, Encore, Stratosphere, and the Fremont Street Experience. The set is finished with the iconic “Welcome To Las Vegas” sign nameplate.
The Lego Las Vegas set has been in the works for about a year. The original version of the Lego set included Mandalay Bay and Wynn Las Vegas. The set appeared to be close to release in time for the holidays last year but that was put on hold in late 2017.
Lego decided to scrap plans to include Mandalay Bay in the Las Vegas Architecture Lego set after the shooting on October 1st, 2017. The set was again augmented with a subtle change to Wynn Las Vegas. Lego has removed the Wynn name from the brown hotel. This building is now nameless and is the Encore tower (at Wynn Las Vegas). You can read more about the changes here.
The Lego Architecture series honors the world of architecture through the medium of the Lego bricks. This Lego series puts special emphasis on the buildings included in each set. Lego Las Vegas includes a booklet that contains information about the designer, architecture, and history of each structure in the set. The booklet also includes historical facts about Las Vegas and its architectural heritage.
Lego Architecture Las Vegas includes approximately 500 pieces. That might sound like a lot, but this set isn’t very large. That said, the base for Las Vegas is slightly larger than most other Architecture sets. This set is approximately 7 inches high, 10 inches wide and 2 inches deep. It’s the perfect size to display at a work desk or on a mantle at home.
There are so many iconic landmarks in Las Vegas that Lego can easily put out more sets. Travel north on the Vegas Strip from Bellagio and you easily have the beginning of another set with Caesars Palace, The Mirage, and Treasure Island. Between the fountains, volcano, and pirate ship each of these hotels comes with a unique element in front of the property.
The Lego Architecture Las Vegas future is bright. It all starts with the first set that’s now available anywhere you buy Lego sets. Visit Amazon or your local retailer to buy today.
