The Fremont Street Experience recently welcomed two of the most popular Electronic Dance Music (EDM) performers to grace their stages. The Chainsmokers and Steve Aoki both provided free concerts to launch their new Viva Vision shows at the Fremont Street Experience.
This is a big year for Viva Vision as the Fremont Street Experience is installing a new video screen on the canopy. The installation of the screens will be finished by New Year’s Eve but we’re already seeing them in action. The new Viva Vision will be four times as bright as the screens that are being replaced.
Steve Aoki’s recent performance at the Fremont Street Experience took place on the 1st Street Stage outside of the Golden Gate Casino. Somehow, approximately 8,000 people squeezed into the plaza to watch the Grammy-nominated producer drop sick beats. The show is special to the resident DJ at Hakkasan, Omnia, and Wet Republic because fans of all ages can enjoy his music.
The free performance was to promote Aoki’s new Viva Vision show and the completion of the first section of the new screen to be installed. The new six-minute musical montage features Aoki’s hits “Delirious,” “Azukita” and “Waste It On Me.” Unfortunately, it does not include his most popular mainstream hit “In The House.”
Prior to Steve Aoki’s performance at the First Street stage, the Chainsmokers performed on the Third Street Stage in between The D, Four Queens, and Fremont Casino. The Chainsmokers are a Grammy-award winning DJ duo who are resident DJ’s at Wynn (XS and Encore Beach Club).
Like Aoki, the Chainsmokers performed at the Fremont Street Experience to promote their new Viva Vision show. Their light show above on the canopy of the Fremont Street Experience includes “Don’t Let Me Down”, “Closer”, and “Something Just Like This”.
Similar to Steve Aoki, the Viva Vision show doesn’t include their first mainstream pop radio song. That’s okay, you can watch the video for #Selfie below. You might notice that Aoki makes a brief appearance in the video.
Free Nightly Viva Vision Shows At The Fremont Street Experience
The free nightly Viva Vision light and sound shows run seven days a week above the Fremont Street Experience. The “World’s Largest Video Screen” rotates different shows at the top of every hour from 6:00 p.m to 1:00 a.m. unless there’s a major concert taking place. You can see the show schedule here.
Current Viva Vision shows include:
- The Chainsmokers
- Green Day
- Imagine Dragons
- The Killers
- Linkin Park
- Steve Aoki
It appears as though all of the classic rock shows including The Who, Heart, and KISS have been retired. The free Viva Vision shows are unique and part of the fun experience on Fremont Street. The shows are always worth a few minutes of time while wandering around the mall of casinos in downtown Las Vegas.
