Most visitors visit Las Vegas and never leave the Vegas Strip. That makes sense because there’s so much to see and do. After a few visits to Las Vegas, some guests begin venturing off the Vegas Strip to see what else Sin City has to offer. While I love the off-strip casinos, they’re not for

MGM Resorts is making moves…most of which won’t affect your next visit. In early 2019, MGM Resorts formed a committee to evaluate its real estate portfolio. After reviewing its assets, the committee decided to take an asset-light approach for most of its US casino operations. This year, the CEO of the company decided to step

Having Fun While Gambling In Vegas

Thursday, 06 February 2020 by

I found Las Vegas and the casino business because of gambling. My first time gambling was in grade school when I learned how to play poker. We played for pennies and had a great time. My poker playing days stayed on the east coast since I only gamble in casinos nowadays. I don’t enjoy casino

Dining in Las Vegas isn’t cheap. Sure there are inexpensive dishes but splurging on food in Las Vegas can get a bit expensive. Even ideas that seem cheap, aren’t always inexpensive. For example, eating at a bar can be inexpensive. Dining at a bar can also be as expensive as sitting at a table in

Casino Rules Are Not All The Same

Wednesday, 29 January 2020 by

There’s a reason that it feels as though your money isn’t going as far as it used to in Las Vegas. Simply put, there’s a markup on price bars and restaurants. The more touristy the location the greater the markup. For example, the Starbucks at Red Rock Casino might charge 10% more than a freestanding

Mesa Grill at Caesars Palace recently celebrated its 15th anniversary. The restaurant opened in the fall of 2004 and has welcomed nearly 2.5 million guests. I don’t find celebrations like this to be interesting very often but this strikes me differently. Mesa Grill is easily my favorite restaurant at Caesars Palace. This is quite a

Las Vegas Celebrates Chinese New Year

Thursday, 09 January 2020 by

I’ve become fascinated by the celebration of Chinese New Year in Las Vegas. While the east coast casinos would decorate for the occasion, the celebrations were always pretty low key. That’s not the case in Las Vegas as the city goes all out to celebrate Chinese New Year.

Casino operators like MGM Resorts and Wynn Las Vegas aren’t the only companies expanding convention space.
